Greetings from The Prairie!
I’m back from my extraordinary visit to
Round Top and what I can only call -
the most amazing bed and breakfast— literally!
I was a little beside myself when I received a
lovely email from the Ashwell camp
inquiring about a shoot for Rachel’s site
Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic Couture.
I had to read it 3 times to understand.
Why?
Of course Rachel is a rockstar in the
interior design world…check out
Jessica Simpson’s nursery designed by Rachel…
but honestly b/c I just adore
her style, her outlook, just the person she is.
Peaceful, meaningful, inspiring, simple, real.
It’s easy to get a true sense of Rachel
by all of the personal touches on the property.

Imprinted concrete outside my cabin.
I love Rachel’s love of flowers and how she obviously gets
this from her mother (just read her mother’s poem above).
Even in the dead heat of summer in TEXAS no less – beauty.

The breeze even blows a simple lace curtain a little more poetically at the Prairie.
You’ll have to visit to see what I mean.

Not even styled…just another day of simple pretty fabric hanging outside.

Even the moss seems to grow poetically.
I never knew I could love a fungus this much.

Straight out of Better Homes or Southern Living.

I need that awning.

My newfound love of barrels.

A bathroom outside. So does that make it an “outhouse”!? LOL

My love affair with the vintage truck at the Prairie continues.

Only Rachel would have a pretty, floral fabric hanging in the back
of a rusted old truck…sigh….

The best bath of my entire life. seriously.

Oh and breakfast.
This breakfast truly deserves a post of it’s own.
But since I only have 1 pic this will have to do.
Danny– may have ruined me for all other breakfasts.
Kiwi, blueberries, strawberries followed by
eggs, toast, potatoes, aspargus, tomato, bacon.
OH MY GOODNESS!

Then it was time for day 2 of “work”.
My lovely assistant and also hostess at the Prairie- Marie.
So helpful and sweet. She made my visit a dream.
Robbie also very helpful moving all the furnishings around
and savior of my back was so very helpful.
So here’s a sneak peak of the pieces shot.
I’m not going to lie. I got a headache.
A bad headache. And i forgot my migraine meds.
Getting just the right look, just the right styling, just the right angle…
so so important to me to get it right.
All handpicked by Rachel – how can you do
these one of a kind pieces of art justice?!

I didn’t post all the photos b/c there were a 100 final.
But you should definitely check out Rachel’s
site if you are interested in
purchasing any of these amazing pieces!
